Vision 2050: Efficiency standards for combustion engine vehicles

By 2050, even with an accelerated transition to electric vehicles, the world will still build more than 2 billion more conventional vehicles. The difference between building those 2 billion engines to current efficiency standards and building them to more stringent standards will be about 38 gigatons of carbon emitted into the atmosphere.
